“It’s basically science!” -Leo

Our house has legit smelled like fresh cut roses since we got them over a week ago!

kai rose hand cream

Don’t want to give the cliché 2 dozen roses as a present?! Give them the gift of scent! kai rose hand cream is the brand’s classic scented moisturizer layered with rose absolute, bergamot, clove, cedar wood, and geranium.

I love this purse size hand cream especially when I’m traveling. Nourish your hands with an indulgent blend of nutrient-rich hydrating ingredients such as safflower seed oil, shea butter, and vitamins A, C, and E, with extracts of rose hips, comfrey, cucumber and ivy. It smells like you have just left a rose garden.

Spa Day

Who doesn’t love the spa?! We believe your own healing is a powerful contribution to the healing of everyone.

We CRAVE a good massage! If you think about it… touch comes before sight and before speech. Making it our first language. We believe that a massage is not meant as a luxury but a basic human need. It is an action that validates life and gives hope to both the receiver and giver.

Last weekend we visited our favorite spa here in LA – Larchmont Sanctuary Spa for an early Valentine’s Day treat.

They have some amazing V-Day packages going on right now so check them out before they book up!

We got the “Shakespeare In Love

This package includes:

  • Copper Jacuzzi Soak w Sparkling Rose and Chocolate Covered Strawberries – 20 minutes
  • Himalayan Salt Stone Massage – 60 minutes
  • Couples Reflexology or Scalp Treatment – 15 minutes
  • Take Home Himalayan Salt Candle Holder

It honestly was the best thing we have done in a long time. We left feeling so relaxed and rejuvenated! Treat Yo Self!

The Giving Key

We love everything this brand is doing!!

A True Pay It Forward Company

At The Giving Keys, They want to inspire the world to pay it forward, so
they’ve built it into how they do business. Through their social impact
employment model, every product you purchase supports job
creation for people transitioning out of homelessness.

Homelessness is very much an epidemic here is Los Angeles. Approximately 50,000 people are experiencing homelessness in and around L.A., according to the latest count by the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority. The vast majority of them live unsheltered on the streets.

It’s extremely sad and we are always looking for ways to give back. Whether it’s a small act of giving clothes from our closet, blankets or food to a few.

Or donating our time to help like at the burrito project! The Burrito Project, is a group of friends who meet monthly to commune with one another and share quality food with the disenfranchised people of downtown Los Angeles, Pasadena & surrounding areas.

Same Team

We got the “Same Team” key. In this world, We are all on the same team; and sometimes we have to remind each other of that.

In a relationship, teamwork really does make the dream work. Being in a relationship definitely means you and your partner are a team. It’s almost as if relationships are the ultimate team sport. You each bring your unique gifts and talents and use them to create something better than either of you can do alone.

The Giving Keys’ motto is simple… Choose, Wear and Embrace the word on your key. Pass it on to someone who needs it more than you. Support jobs for individuals transitioning out of homelessness.

We love these matching same team keys! It’s the perfect way to give a gift that keeps on giving. You can read more about what we think makes a successful team work on The Giving Keys Blog HERE.

Sushi Date – at Home

Oooooo you know we love a good Sushi date! But sometimes you just don’t want to face those holiday crowds! One of our all time favorite sushi places here in LA is Sugarfish!

SUGARFISH by sushi nozawa has multiple locations in Los Angeles. It’s a different kind of sushi dining experience. Their restaurants serve only traditional sushi of the highest quality based on Chef Nozawa’s style of sushi. Their passion is to carry forward his great tradition and style of food – which many believe is the best sushi there is.

We love to order the “Trust Me” and pick it up. There may be small daily variations to the Trust Me’s but its always delicious and enough for us to share! To make the whole experience a little extra special pick up some Japanese Craft beers at the store and have an authentic Sushi night at home!

Write a personalized Poem

Leo is truly the poet of the family. He has written me numerous poems since we started dating and it is always just the sweetest, most thoughtful and loving thing he could give! I’m always surprised and brought to tears because of the genuineness of something like this that comes from the heart.

If you aren’t a writer, that’s ok too! There are people out there who will create a special poem just for the two of you!

A friend of ours through Instagram, VICTORIA WALKDEN wrote us a personalized poem and it literally made our year!

Check out her amazing work HERE.

Sunnyday Scoot

Sunnyday Scoot is a fully immersive, one-of-a-kind adventure that’s fun for lovers and friends alike. Explore their variety of Los Angeles sightseeing tours and guided rides to plan your adventure.

We have said it once, and we will say it again! This is literally one of the coolest things to do in LA! You and your love sit side by side, and take turns driving these fun mini-cars that we call Scoots!

We love the sunrise tour! It’s so intimate and romantic! First, you drive your Scoot in darkness under the moonlit sky through Griffith Park, one of the most expansive urban parks in the country.

Then scoot up to the most beautiful scenic overlook just outside of historic Hollywoodland.

It’s probably the only time you will see the Griffith Observatory with no one around!

There you will enjoy the highlight of the tour as you view the beautiful sunrise over the sleeping city skyline.

Honestly one of the BEST DATES we have ever been on!

A Night Out

Here are a few things that you couples could get into on the 14th in Los Angeles that will definitely spike the temperature in the room.

Lucha Vavoom

Mayan, Downtown February 13 – February 14, 2019

Lucha VaVOOM combines Mexican-style lucha libre wrestling with burlesque theater and comedy.

I was actually just lucky enough to work with these lovely ladies! A women owned and operated business; Lucha VaVOOM is a racy, raucous spectacle of wrestling, burlesque and various amazing sideshow acts may not seem a logical choice for a romantic night out.

But if you’re looking for a high-voltage, lusty, entertainment-filled evening, this show has it all. This Valentine’s Day, the theme is Amor Prohibido (forbidden love)

Dance the Night away at Union Station

Union Station Ticketing Hall Thursday, February 14, 2019 from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. –This event is free and open to the public

Let loose and spend the night swaying and two-stepping to live music in one of L.A.’s historic architectural gems, Union Station. Come Valentine’s Day, the grand Ticketing Hall will transform into a dance floor and stage, where a live band will set the musical tone for you and your loved one from 8pm to 10pm.

Grand Park Lovers Rock

Grand Park, Downtown February 14, 2019 – 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm Free

It doesnt get more romantic than DTLA’s Grand Park? With its picnic lawns, fountains and bright pink benches, the 12-acre urban oasis sets the stage for a free Valentine’s Day concert. Angelenos can enjoy a relaxed evening under the stars, romantic lights, and amidst the iconic views of LA City Hall and Grand Park’s Arthur J. Will Memorial fountain. Groove to the sounds of DJs Danny Holloway and DJ Phersone, enjoy desserts and sweets from food trucks, and capture a memory at the photo booth. Bring a blanket and picnic basket, or some takeout, and chill with your love at Grand Park!

Casablanca screening

American Cinematheque at the Aero Theatre  Santa Monica February 14, 2019 – 7:30pm – $12

Here’s looking at you, kid.

One of the most beloved, romantic, and quotable films of all time, this timeless story of love and intrigue offers endless delights for first-timers and repeat viewers alike. Catch Humphrey Bogart at his most romantic in this WWII classic.

“Of all the gin joints, in all the towns, in all the world, she walks into mine…”

A Night In Havana Valentine’s Soiree

Clifton’s Republic, Downtown Historic Core February 14 – February 15, 2019 – $25 General Admission

Clifton’s Republic is transporting Angelenos to Cuba’s capital city with Daiquiris, Champagne, salsa dancing, casino games and Cuban-inspired fare all night long. Valentine’s party-goers will receive 5,000 “Clifton’s Pesos” to play in the casino, with the chance to win prizes like a romantic night stay in DTLA’s Nomad Hotel.

Prix Fixe Hearts

Inn of The Seventh Ray

Valentine’s Day – Thursday – February 13 – 14, 2019

Brunch Buffet  –  $37 / $34 (vegetarian)  –  9 am – 230 pm

5-course Prix Fixe Valentine’s Dinner  –  $135 / $120 (vegetarian)  –  430pm – 1030pm

The Inn of the Seventh Ray is just the most magical place in all of LA! Dine creekside amongst old oaks and sycamores. The creek is flowing from the new rain, the frogs are chirping, and Valentine’s is almost upon us!

Beginning on Wednesday, February 13th, the Inn will be introducing their exquisitely crafted 5-course prix-fixe Valentine’s menu.

They will be having a brunch buffet during the day, and the 5-course prix fixe menu at night. Preferred ticket sales are now open – and they’re only way to guarantee a spot on Valentine’s night. Book HERE!

Firefly

Firefly in Studio City is an intimate and romantic little gem in The Valley. If you have to go out and face the prix fix menus this is one of the better ones out there.

Valentine’s Day – Thursday – February 14, 2019

3-course Prix Fixe Valentine’s Dinner  –  $150

Their menu starts with Champagne and a lobster roll and ends with a red velvet cheesecake. We want.

Le Petit

We love this little french bistro! Offering a Parisian-style setting & traditional French recipes, including lobster specials.

There is not a Prix Fixe menu but they do have a V-day “special” menu. This place books fast so make sure to call ahead.

The Roof on Wilshire

Fun Fact: This was Leo and I’s first date. They don’t have anything in particular on Valentine’s Day. It’s just where the stars aligned for us so we thought we would share.

The vibe is so cool here and they have some pretty beautiful views of The Hollywood Hills.

Love the One You’re With

As always we want to remind you that you don’t need a marked calendar day to love on the people around you. We look at Valentine’s day as just another day to tell each other how much we care, to hug a little harder and kiss a little longer.

Happy Valentine’s Day Lovers!

XO

Callie & Leo

Thanks for the post! I was already in Los Angeles, but I never visited most of the places in your post. I think I should rent a car and fix it.
