Soaring Over Los Angeles

Get ready to spread your wings and see LA in a way you have NEVER seen before! Last week we headed down to Hawthorn airport and took the ride of our lives with Pacific Blue Air!

With Pacific Blue Air we experienced Los Angeles from the best vantage points possible, The SKY! Keep reading to find out how you can ride in comfort and get a spectacular view of Los Angeles too!

Date Idea

We were looking for a fun date idea that would be different and adventurous. When we found Pacific Blue Air we knew it was exactly what we wanted! It’s a SkyCycle Ultralight Trike; or basically a hang glider with a motor. They take you up over Los Angeles and show you breathtaking views of the pacific coast, the canyons and downtown LA. When it comes to an unforgettable fun experience, you do not have to look any further!

Isn’t it Scary?

We first arrived at Hawthorne Airport not really knowing what to expect. We were nervous and a little scared to be honest. From the moment we got there though our minds were set at ease! Henry (the owner and pilot) was so friendly and really made us feel at home.

Super Fly Guy

He explained the aircrafts in great detail and reassured us of how safe they really are. We still had a lot of questions. What is this thing? Is it a hang glider? Is it a plane? Are they safe?

The Aircraft

The aircraft is called The Revo. It has been engineered, tested to ASTM design standard compliance and all components are of the highest quality. With three main safety features making it a safe and reliable aircraft.

Safety First

Henry explained they are built incredibly strong. A regular Cessna aircraft will withstand 3.5 g forces on the body and wings. This Aircraft was built to withstand up to 6 g forces.
They have aircraft engine plus a 10 to 1 glide ratio, which means if they are a mile off the ground, they can glide 10 miles with no engine at all.
Another safety feature is that they have a parachute system on the airplane. If there was to be a serious problem, they simply pull a handle and a Large Parachute deploys and we would float safely down.
and ALL of their Pilots Are FAA Certified Flight Instructors, with hundreds of flying hours and experience. Needless to say we felt more than safe, suited up and jumped on board!
The only three requirements are a Desire To FLY,  8+ years or more and the weight limit of 250lbs/114kg.

UP UP and AWAY

When it came time to fly we suited up and each had to take a separate aircraft. You have to book 2 Aircrafts as each Aircraft will only hold 1 Pilot + 1 Passenger

The motor started and we were down the runway and up in the air in no time! Within seconds we were flying high over Los Angeles and headed to the coast!

SPECTACULAR SKY HIGH VIEWS

It honestly felt like we were on the back of a motorcycle in the sky! Gliding up and over the 405 and then straight over the ocean! We were amazed as this little aircraft hovered over the city that we love!

It felt like we were on a motorcycle in the sky!

Breathtaking Views

We flew over the Huntington pier and waved at all the fishermen, We glided over the water and even did some sky donuts! It was exhilarating and we couldn’t stop smiling the whole time!

We were even able to take the wheel and fly ourselves! After our flight was over and we landed safely on the ground we were on cloud nine!

Unforgettable Fun Experience

It was the most fun we have ever had and would definitely recommend you check Pacific Blue Air out if you are looking for a truly unique way to explore LA this is it! We even racked up 30 minutes towards our pilots license! Only 19 hours and 30 minutes to go!
